How to prevent water leakage during the processing of wall-mounted faucet

Publish Time: 2025-06-10
The leakage of wall-mounted faucet will seriously affect the user experience and home environment. During the processing, it is necessary to start from multiple links to prevent leakage from happening in all directions. The selection of materials for parts is crucial at the initial stage of processing. The main material of the faucet should have good sealing and corrosion resistance. If inferior materials are used, even if the processing technology is exquisite, it is difficult to avoid leakage caused by material aging and deformation. For example, high-quality copper materials are not only hard and can withstand high water pressure, but also not easily corroded by impurities in water during long-term use, providing protection from the source to prevent leakage; while some cheap plastic materials are prone to cracking in an alternating hot and cold environment, greatly increasing the risk of leakage. At the same time, the selection of seals should not be ignored. Sealing rubber rings, gaskets, etc. should be made of water-resistant and aging-resistant rubber materials with moderate hardness and elasticity. If they are too hard, they cannot fit tightly to the parts, and if they are too soft, they are easily squeezed and deformed, which may cause sealing failure.

The processing accuracy of parts is directly related to the sealing effect. If the dimensional deviation of the internal water channel, threaded interface and other parts of the faucet is too large, it will cause the parts to not fit tightly together. For example, if the threaded interface is not processed neatly, there will be a small gap when connected to the water pipe even if the nut is tightened. Over time, water will seep out of these gaps. Therefore, during the processing, high-precision processing equipment is required to finely cut and polish the parts through CNC lathes, milling machines, etc. to ensure that the dimensional error of each interface and channel is controlled within a very small range. For some key parts, secondary processing and testing are required to further improve the accuracy and ensure that the parts fit tightly after assembly.

The assembly link is a key step to prevent water leakage. When assembling the various parts into a complete wall-mounted faucet, the operation must be strictly carried out in the correct order and method. When installing the seal, ensure that it is in the correct position and cannot be twisted or displaced, otherwise it will affect the sealing performance. For example, if the sealing rubber ring of the faucet valve core is installed, if the rubber ring is not completely embedded in the groove, the rubber ring may be washed away under the impact of the water flow, causing water leakage. At the same time, when connecting the water pipe to the faucet body, in addition to tightening the threads, you can also wrap raw tape around the threads or apply sealant to increase the sealing of the connection. Raw tape has good ductility and sealing properties, and can fill the tiny gaps between the threads; sealant forms a solid sealing layer after curing, and double protection effectively prevents water leakage.

Welding technology also plays an important role in the processing of wall-mounted faucet. For some parts connected by welding, such as the main body and the outlet of the faucet, the quality of welding directly affects whether there is water leakage. During the welding process, it is necessary to ensure that the weld is uniform and full, and no defects such as pores and sand holes should appear. Pores and sand holes will become channels for water leakage, especially when the water pressure is high, water will seep out from these weak points. In order to ensure the quality of welding, operators need to have skilled welding technology and choose appropriate welding methods and parameters according to different materials and components. For example, for copper parts, argon arc welding can be used. This welding method has concentrated heat and can quickly melt the metal to form a strong weld, while reducing the thermal impact on surrounding parts and avoiding deformation of parts due to high temperature, which affects the sealing performance.

The inspection process after processing is essential. Through pressure testing of wall-mounted faucet, the water pressure environment in actual use is simulated to detect its sealing performance. Connect the faucet to a special pressure testing device, gradually increase the water pressure, and observe whether there is water droplets seeping out. If there is no leakage within the specified pressure range, it means that the faucet has good sealing performance; once a leak is found, the part needs to be repaired or reprocessed in time. In addition to pressure testing, air tightness testing can also be performed. By filling the faucet with gas and detecting whether there is gas leakage, it can be judged whether there are problems with the seals and connections. Through strict testing, potential water leakage hazards can be discovered in time to ensure that every wall-mounted faucet shipped from the factory meets quality standards.

During the processing process, control of the production environment also helps prevent water leakage. Keep the processing workshop clean and hygienic to prevent dust and impurities from entering the parts or adhering to the surface of the seal. Dust particles may damage the surface flatness of the seal, resulting in poor sealing; impurities entering the waterway may block the water flow, increase water pressure, and cause greater pressure on the sealing part, thus causing water leakage. Therefore, the workshop should be cleaned and dusted regularly, and operators should wear gloves during processing and assembly to prevent oil and sweat stains on their hands from contaminating parts and affecting the sealing effect.

Preventing water leakage during the processing of wall-mounted faucet requires strict control of multiple links from material selection, processing accuracy, assembly, welding, testing to production environment. Only by striving for excellence in every link can we produce a wall-mounted faucet with good sealing performance and durability, and avoid trouble and loss to users due to water leakage.
